Core Concepts
Users on Sundog belong to one or more Labs. This relationship is called an affiliation.
Although you have may have joined Sundog as a user of a specific lab, your account is not tied to that lab: you can use your account throughout your career, moving between labs.
Experiments belong to a specific Lab. An experiment is a container for work - notably, Uploads and Stacks. Anyone in a Lab can create an experiment.
Experiments can be placed into one ore more Projects. Projects are ways to organise experiments, and ways to control access to them.
An Upload is a single file that you have uploaded to an Experiment. It may contain one or more pages, as per the TIFF spec.
A Stack is the place you’ll do work on Sundog: one or more pages from one or more uploads. Putting things in a Stack allows you to view them with other people in the StackViewer; this is where you can manipulate, annotate, and discuss work.
